From an undated magazine 'What to Wear for Travel'

These two costumes take easily to open road. Left: a three-piece ensemble of Worumbo tweed, coat lined with red mole. Right: a full length Jelaboa coat over a Hockanum wool one-piece dress. Left by Ben Zuckerman, right by Vera Maxwell.
It is very likely that Worumo, Jelaboa and Hockanum are all mills producing high end wool.

What a perfect coat! This Ben Zuckerman coat, dating from the mid 1950's is likely made of silk. It is beautifully tailored, with a wonderful collar that is part of the bodice. The waist is tiny and it is very likely that the model wore a 'waspie' corset under her clothes.

This is a wonderful Ben Zuckerman suit, featured on the cover of Vogue, which gives an idea of the importance and esteem Zuckerman was held in.
The suit is navy and is accessorised in the traditional white. The suit is single breasted and has brass buttons, giving this suit the feeling of a uniform.

This is a really lovely Ben Zuckerman coat dating from the 1950's. It is long and has soft shoulders rather than the typical tailored shoulders used by Zuckerman. The coat has a lovely detail in the 'belt' closure which helps to define the waist.
