Here is another picture of the Ben Zuckerman coat Princess Grace wore on her arrival in Monaco to marry Prince Rainier.
You can see the fullness in the rear of the coat- perfect for covering the full skirts of the time.

From Vogue, 1 March 1952- Suzy Parker in a Ben Zuckerman coat. This coat, in  pale wool, is double breasted and has a nipped waist, flaring skirt and 3/4 length sleeves.
Suzy Parker was probably the top model of the 1950's. Born in 1932 in Texas, she appeared on dozens of magazine covers in the 1950's and was the first model to earn over $100,000. She was a favourite of Coco Chanel and appeared in numerous Revlon ads of the time. She retired in 1964 and died in 2003.

From Vogue, February 1951- an early Ben Zuckerman suit. This suit takes a mannish material- pin stripe- and with some amazing tailoring turns it super feminine. The waist of the jacket is very nipped and the hips flair out below. Another feminine touch is the flower at the shoulder.

This brown pin-striped Ben Zuckerman suit is such a lovely example of masculine-style suiting tailored to feminine perfection. The jacket has 4 buttons down the front as well as buttons on the pockets. It has a nipped waist and has a vague art deco feeling with the arrow shaped pockets. The jacket is lined in pale pink silk, another feminine touch that only the wearer would know about.
The suit was sold at Best's Apparel, Seattle. Best's was a clothing store, located on the corner of Fifth and Pine Street in downtown Seattle. The store was bought out by Nordstrom in 1963.

This Ben Zuckerman coat, in pale blue belonged to Elizabeth Taylor and dates from the early 1960's. The coat is slightly empire waisted and has 3/4 length sleeves and a peter pan collar.
Miss Taylor was at the height of her fame at this time so it gives an indication of how well regarded Ben Zuckerman was for a star of her stature to wear his designs.
