An undated Zuckerman coat in a pale silk matalasse trimmed in white fur.

Matalasse means “quilted,”. Matelassé fabric can be either hand-stitched to create the decorative features of the fabric, or woven on a jacquard loom for the appearance of quilting. Matelassé fabric is a heavy, thick textile that appears to be padded, but actually has no padding within the fabric. *

This is a really interesting Ben Zuckerman suit in a pale green floral pattern with blue and peach accents.

The suit is wool and has a typical Zuckerman skirt and a jacket that is sleeveless- perfect for summer wear.

This suit was sold at Amelia Gray, Beverley Hills, a boutique that sold only the highest quality garments. Many movie stars of the 1950s and 60s shopped at the store, which was known for its high level of customer service.

An undated Ben Zuckerman coat (likely from the late 1960's).

The coat has a nehru collar and is a pale colour with a white button placket and buttons going down the length of the coat.

The model poses in the space capsule next to an astronaut. Her hat resembles a helmet and the general feel of this picture is space age and futuristic.
