From 25 February, 1963- Sculpted Slender
' New York: Noted for his coats, Ben Zuckerman of New York interpretes a French-ribbed ottoman coat in pale rose, with a sculpted slender look. The spring fashion features rounded shoulders and narrow, banded slit pockets. A touch of elegancy is added to the coat with passementrie buttons on its double-breasted closing.'
I am fortunate to own a coat from the same collection, seen here. While mine is ivory, and has two sets of buttons instead of 3, the material is the same as is the buttons. Ben Zuckerman was known for his extremely large collections each season, though as illustrated here, it was often a case of very subtle differences between each garment, or the same outfit made in 3 or 4 different colours or fabrics.
