This is a super feminine Ben Zuckerman coat dating from the early 1960's. It was worn by an aide to President Kennedy.
Ben Zuckerman was one of three designers suggested to Jacqueline Kennedy during her tenure as First Lady by Diana Vreeland. The others were Stella Sloat and Norman Norell, which shows the esteem that Zuckerman was held in. Ultimately she went with Oleg Cassini, however it has since come to light that Mr Cassini often made line-for-line copies of French designers such as Chanel and Givenchy so that Mrs Kennedy could have her French clothing while still being seen as patronising an American designer.
