This mid 1960's Ben Zuckerman suit is tailoring perfection. It is made of a very substantial brown wool and is double breasted with a leather belt at the waist of the jacket. The jacket is wonderfully well made- you can see the bound buttonholes in one of the above pictures as well as the stitching on the edge of the jacket.
The suit was sold at Wolff Brothers, which was a department store founded in 1865 in Leavenworth, Kansas by Samuel and Alfred Wolff. This first store was moved to Kansas City in 1879 and was followed by 5 more stores in the American mid-west. The stores were know for their luxury goods. The final Wolff Brothers store closed in 1962.

This undated (likely early to mid 1950's) Ben Zuckerman suit is a delight! The jacket has a tiny waist and a peplum, and features 3/4 length sleeves and a rolled collar. The model is perfectly accessorised, with gloves, and a marvellous hat.
This suit was sold at John Wanamaker in Philadelphia and Young's Gown Shop in Portland. Wanamaker's was the first department store in Philadelphia. Founded in 1876 by John Wanamaker. It is considered by many to be America's first real department store. The store was considered unusual at the time as it offered no quibble returns and also guaranteed the merchandise. John Wanamaker also invented the price tag. In 1995 the stores, which numbered 15 at this time, were sold off to various buyers and the Wanamaker name was no more.

This is a Ben Zuckerman coat, dating from the mid 1960's, in bright lime green. It is trimmed in ivory at the closing, cuffs, collar and pockets and has large gold buttons that give a nautical feel. It also has a half belt at the back.
This coat, with its more youthful cut and colour shows that Ben Zuckerman was moving with the times, as by the mid 1960's fashion was featuring younger designs.

'Suits and ensembles with the suit look both have flexibility in styling this spring. There is a variety of jacket lengths and styles. Some are boxy, some are short-cropped, some are semi-box jackets. Beige paint brush tweed edges with white braid binding has a soft look. There's a six-gore skirt in this Ben Zuckerman suit.'

This lovely Ben Zuckerman suit in tweed dates from the early 1950's. It has a tiny, nipped waist, and large decorative pockets at the hip. The skirt is straight and probably ends mid-calf. As always, the model is perfectly accessorized with matching hat, gloves and scarf.

This bright pink Ben Zuckerman ensemble, made up of a dress and jacket  is youthful and stylish.
The dress and coat are trimmed in navy blue and it appears to be made of a 'waffle' weave cotton.  The buttons add a decorative feature.
The colouring of the outfit brings to mind the suit worn by Jacqueline Kennedy when her husband was assassinated in 1963 which makes me believe that it was probably made before that date.

This is an extremely unusual Ben Zuckerman dress that I believe dates from the late 1960's. The styling is somewhat conservative and covered up, as the length of the dress probably falls to knee length but the pattern is 'wild'.
Of course the tailoring is top notch and the dress is fully lined in green silk. This would have been a perfect dress for an older lady who wanted to wear the youthful styles of the late 1960'.
