Here is a marvellous Ben Zuckerman jacket, once paired with a skirt, that dates from the early 1950's. It is a perfect example of the 'New Look' as created by Christian Dior. The shoulders are soft and sloping, so unlike the padded shoulders of the World War II era. The waist nips in dramatically and all in all it is a super feminine yet tailored delight. The buttons are rhinestone and the collar is trimmed in satin. To top it all off there is a matching scarf in satin.

From 1957- an ad for a Ben Zuckerman coat sold Henri Bendel for $225. The coat is black with white topstitching at the opening, collar and pockets. It is a voluminous coat that would have been worn during the day over a suit or dress.
Henri Bendel is an upscale department store, based in New York City with 16 other stores in America. Established in 1895. Henri Bendel was known as the first American retailer to bring Chanel fashions from France.

Here are two gorgeous Ben Zuckerman suits, one in pale pink and the other in steel grey.
The suit on the left consists of a pink jacket and skirt with a (probably) sleeveless blouse. The jacket is single breasted and the buttons appear to match the blouse.
The suit on the right is double breasted and is much more sober than the pink suit. Both suits are wonderfully tailored and would be a delight to wear.

This is a Ben Zuckerman suit, in a traditional menswear fabric- pinstriped wool but with feminine details like a small, dainty collar, mother-of-pearl buttons and three quarter length sleeves. The suit is tailored for a woman- you can see the darts at the bust to give the jacket feminine shaping.
The suit jacket is edged in black ribbon which is quite striking.

From Vogue, 1964-
'Lacy pale-grey wool in a two-piece dress with the precise tailoring of a suit. Long- almost to the hip- overblouse with a half belt in front, shoulders, sleeves and skirt all done with this year's narrowness, and a wonderful ease. With it, pale tonalities: white crocheted stockings, white leather hat, fawn gloves. Dress of textured wool jersey by Ben Zuckerman.'

What a striking Ben Zuckerman suit this is! Zuckerman takes the usual, well tailored and well made suit and makes it stand out by using a gold patterned material.
Perhaps because the material is so bold, the jacket and skirt are simple. The other standout feature is the buttons on the jacket- they are jewelled and accessorize the suit perfectly.
I would date this suit from the late 1960's as the skirt is shorter than seen in earlier Zuckermans (while still being long enough for the more conservative, older customer that Ben Zuckerman catered for).
