An interesting tie-in advertisement from American Airlines and various prominent American fashion designers, including Ben Zuckerman.

Patty Poulsen, 'Queen of World Stewardesses' in her new, very American red, white and blue uniform by Hart Schaffner & Marx. Great look. Great fashion. And proudly wearing the label of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union- the symbol of progress.
Patty Poulsen, who played Joan, one of the stewardesses in the 1970 movie "Airport", was an actual stewardess for American Airlines. She was the winner of a stewardess beauty contest in which one of the prizes was a role in this film. She was also used heavily in American Airlines advertising of its new uniforms during the mid to late 1960s, photos that have, more recently, appeared in several different coffee table books celebrating the history of the airline hostess.

From Vogue, 1967- A Ben Zuckerman suit in a very modern style. The skirt is short (though still quite conservative compared to what was being worn at this time). This outfit would allow older or more conservative women to wear fashionable clothing while still feeling comfortable.

This is a really lovely yellow Ben Zuckerman dress in a shirtdress style. The material of the dress may be cotton or linen and would be perfect for spring.
The buttons of this dress are amazing- almost like jewelry.
I believe this dress is from the later period in Ben Zuckerman's career- perhaps mid 1960's, when clothing styles became more casual.

An ad, from the 1940's featuring a suit and coat by Zuckerman and Kraus. Zuckerman and Kraus was the company Ben Zuckerman ran before starting his self-named business in 1950.

The large shoulder pads of the coat and suit make this a classic early to mid 1940's silhouette.

This is a wonderful Ben Zuckerman suit jacket in brown tweedy wool, once part of a suit.
The jacket illustrates perfectly what a wonderful tailor Ben Zuckerman was. The jacket has beautifully set in sleeves, which is quite a skill to do correctly. All the button holes are bound and the collar rolls over perfectly. There are hidden pockets in a seam near the waist.
This jacket was sold at Edward Hurwitch, Hartford, which was a smaller boutique type store that was located on Pratt Street in Hartford. This street was home to many high end stores, selling hats, lingerie, shoes and other fine ladies items.  Sadly it is no longer in operation.

This is a Ben Zuckerman outfit, made up of a dress and double breasted coat in a warm peachy pink wool.
The dress is fairly simple, with some nice features like a notched collar and dolman sleeves.
You can also see how well made Ben Zuckerman clothing was. The button holes are all bound and the sleeves are wonderful set. The close-up of the button gives an idea of how wonderful they are.
The outfit has 3 labels- the classic Ben Zuckerman label, and two store labels, Saks Fifth Avenue and Montaldos.

This is the Ben Zuckerman coat worn by Princess Grace on her arrival in Monaco to marry Prince Rainier. Worn with a matching dress (not seen), this coat was lady-like and perfectly proper for Grace's introduction to the people of Monaco.
Princess Grace often wore Zuckerman before her marriage, but after she became Princess of Monaco, she mainly wore French designers.
