Here we have a 1960's Ben Zuckerman suit in black wool. The jacket of the suit is trimmed at the collar and lapel in mink and the skirt is a standard Ben Zuckerman skirt, with a band at the waist, and a slight a-line shape.
The material has a really interesting texture to it. Quite possibly this material was made especially for Ben Zuckerman as was often the case at this time for high end designers.
The suit was sold at Jenny of Cincinnati, more properly known as Gidding- Jenny, the crown jewel of the Cincinnati department stores, which is sadly no longer in existence.

This is a Ben Zuckerman coat, in grey wool. I would date this from the early to mid 1960's. The coat is quite long and has buttons down the length to accentuate the long, lean lines.
The coat has four patch pockets, two at the breast and two at the hip. It also features a half belt to the rear. What a gorgeous coat!

Here is the most perfect Ben Zuckerman outfit. It is made of pale grey brocade and trimmed in chinchilla fur at the neck of the coat. Both the coat and dress have a gentle flare and a shorter length, perfect for a cocktail party.

Here is another lovely Ben Zuckerman suit in black trimmed with black satin. What makes this suit interesting is the closure on the jacket- it is almost like a frog closure. Little details like this make this suit stand out.

This is a classic Ben Zuckerman suit in brown wool. It is double breasted and has all the hallmarks of a Zuckerman- quality buttons, 3/4 length sleeves and simple tailoring.

Ben Zuckerman frequently used fur in his clothing, and this lovely jacket is a wonderful example of this.
The jacket is made of black wool with heavy black buttons, and is trimmed in chinchilla fur at the neck and sleeves.

Here is a Ben Zuckerman cocktail outfit, made up of a dress and matching coat. Both the dress and coat are gently flared and are knee length. The brocade material makes the outfit perfectly appropriate for a cocktail party.
You can see just how skilled the seamstresses at Zuckerman were- the stripes on the coat match perfectly on either side of the opening.

This is a white Ben Zuckerman 3 piece ensemble, very similar to the one below, but without the fur trim.
Ben Zuckerman was well known for having a very large collection each season, often over 300 outfits, but often the outfits were variations on a theme- different material, trimming or colours, but very similar otherwise. I have this same suit in a tan colour with a slightly different material.

This is a 3 piece ensemble by Ben Zuckerman in tan, trimmed with mink.
The ensemble consists of a double breasted jacket, with 3/4 length sleeves and slight nipping at the waist. There is a simple shell, with buttons down the back, and a slight a-line skirt.
