From Vogue, 1958, a Ben Zuckerman coat in raspberry.
This coat is fantastic! There are pleats at the waist and the back is in a 'sack' shape. This style of back was used frequently by Balenciaga and this coat is probably a homage to the master.

From Vogue, 1961- A Ben Zuckerman coat in tweed. The coat still shows some influences from the previous decade- the nipped waist and bell skirt but it is also showing the influence of the more youthful 1960s, the length is shorter.

From 1953- A Ben Zuckerman coat in chocolate brown in a long swing shape. The coat has no collar but features large buttons running down to the waist as well as at the wrist. There is a decorative seam just below the bottom button.

This photo was taken by Horst P Horst, the famous photographer who worked from the mid 1930's to 1991. He was well known for his fashion photographs as well as his photographs of movie stars from the golden age. He worked mainly in black and white but as is evidenced in this photo he did take colour photos. He was born in Germany in 1906 and died in Palm Beach in 1999.

This is a Ben Zuckerman ensemble in rich black silk. The ensemble is made up of a sleeveless dress with an a-line skirt and a short jacket with 3/4 length sleeves and a ring collar.
The material of this outfit is a heavy silk with a slight sheen to it.
I would date this suit to the early 1960's as it has a slight Jacqueline Kennedy feel to it.

From 1955, a Ben Zuckerman suit in a dark colour- probably black or navy.
The suit is wonderfully feminine with a nipped waist, and curved pockets at the waist. The collar features a bow. You can also see the blouse worn underneath peeking out at the collar and cuffs.

This is a Ben Zuckerman jacket, once part of a suit, in grey wool, trimmed in silk. The buttons, which are covered in bronzy silk, really stand out and make this jacket quite special.

From Vogue, March 1957- a Ben Zuckerman coat in a lilac grey. The coat is so typically 1950's- 3/4 length sleeves with soft shoulders, and a full skirt. The coat also has patch pockets and is perfectly accessorized with gloves, jewellery and hat.

This is a mid to late 1960's Ben Zuckerman coat in a rich royal blue velvet. The coat is double breasted and has a half belt in the back. There are large patch pockets at the hip and the buttons are really fantastic- blue rhinestones surrounded by clear rhinestones.
Velvet was a very popular fabric in the 1950's and 60's, mostly worn for evening events.

This is a lovely Ben Zuckerman suit in a pinkish tweed. The jacket is almost shrunken- the sleeves are elbow length and the jacket ends at the waist. It has patch pockets and a band collar.
The suit was retailed at DePinna's.
