A small view of a suit from 1956 in a pale gold colour. This suit was wonderfully accessorized with gold earings, brooch and ring, a slightly darker gold blouse, and yellowy gold gloves. The ensemble is topped off with a lovely gold hat in a very similar gold to the blouse.

An interesting picture, from a 1959 ad featuring 'Ben Zuckerman's new season silk dress, drawn close above the waist, printed all over like a water color wash. The silk lined coat: sheer woollen tweed, in the freshest pink going.'
Also being advertised were cosmetics by Elizabeth Arden, and The Imperial, which is the pink car seen in the background!

Here is a gorgeous brocade dress and jacket, photographed by Richard Avedon.
Richard Avedon (1923-2004) was a photographer who reached the top ranks of his profession. He was the chief photographer at Harper's Bazaar. Avedon did not conform to the standard technique of taking fashion photographs, where models stood emotionless and seemingly indifferent to the camera. Instead, Avedon showed models full of emotion, smiling, laughing, and, many times, in action.
